Fundamentals and Experience Sharing - First step towards implementation

Introduction :

This course is designed to make participants aware & comfortable in understanding the CCPM. It is not only about understanding the mathematics involved in the method; but more importantly to acknowledge the contribution of psychological steps necessary to implement CCPM. The course brings in the real life experience in the form of experience sharing from the facilitator when he implemented the method on few projects.

Learning Objectives : After completing this course the participants will be able to :

  • Understand the fundamental root conflict behind CCPM (conflict of Parkinson and Murphy)
  • Understand the concept of critical chain
  • Understand the true significance of the "buffer"
  • Understand – project buffer, feeding buffer, resource buffer
  • Understand the methods / techniques of calculating and inserting the buffers
  • Understand the environment creation required in the team for the implementation
  • Understand 'Do's and 'Do Not's
  • Acknowledge the word of caution in CCPM implementation
  • Understand the use of Microsoft Project in CCPM
  • See and review a real life CCPM project schedule in Microsoft Project
  • Understand the importance of PMO in CCPM

Please Note :

This course is a basic course and oriented towards understanding the concepts. This course will not make the participant implement the concept. However this course will create a sound foundation which will make the implementation easy and logical. The customized case studies and specific discussions will not be the part of this course as they are covered during advanced courses.

Prerequisite :

This course is designed for those who have some project management knowledge.
